Who needs a Wetsuit?

After a couple of weekends playing golf, it was time to hit the water again. Called up my buddy Rich again and we off to dive with Kaimana Divers. Rich was trying out his new Cressi S116 BC today (good choice, since it’s the same one I dive). Once the boat left the harbor, I decided to dive my new wetsuit, a Kaimana Diver t-shirt (since I left my real wetsuit in the van). Our first site was the wonderful YO-257. This was Rich’s second dive here, so I led him over to the San Pedro so he could see a different wreck , and I was hunting for shark, sshh don’t tell him. No luck on the shark, but Rich found a great eel hiding at the bottom of the hull. As we crossed back over to the YO we came across a turtle “sun bathing” on the deck. After a nice surface interval, we were back in the water at Kewalo Pipe. I’ve been hitting up the “fish bunker” the last couple of times, so this time we headed over to Horseshoe Reef. We found some nice eels here, and eagle eye Rich found a scorpion fish today. Once back on the pipe, we took our time heading back to the mooring. I didn’t need an eagle eye to spot an eel sitting up against the pipe, in the wide open. The picture doesn’t due him justice; he had to be close to 5ft long! We had great visibility and very little current today, just typical Oahu diving again.

Great dives this weekend.... thanks for coming along. How is Rich liking his new BC? Did he get a new reg yet?

He's loving it. He picked up a new Aqualung on the way home that day.
