Diving Old School

Well, it's been a long, long time since it was just me and Gabe diving together. I almost miss looking at the heels of those Cressi fins! We were the first ones off the boat this morning at the Sea Tiger. We spent a little time swimming around the deck. Then we did a couple of swim-thrus around the wheel house. Gabe was on the hunt for a Frogfish that’s been hanging out the back of the wreck, but no luck today. I did find a turtle taking a nap on top of the wheelhouse. As we made our way back to the mooring line, a Spotted Eagle Ray decided to make an up-close fly-by. So I tried the video setting on the camera today, and you’ll see why I said fly-by. After a long surface interval, it was back in the water at the Kewalo Pipe and low and behold, FROGFISH!! This is my first sighting of one, other than at the aquarium yesterday. As we headed for deeper water, we spotted a few eels and a couple of shrimp. As we were just getting to the mooring line, Slipper Lobster! Again, I was nice to dive like I use to when I started, staring over Gabe’s shoulder as he finds all the little creatures. If you are ever in Honolulu and looking to spend some time underwater, give him a call at Kaimana Diver (link to the right).

Let me know what you think of my first underwater videos!
